HEAVY SNOW LATE TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT…
A POTENT SPRING STORM WILL MOVE INTO THE NORTHERN HIGH PLAINS THIS AFTERNOON… AND MOVE ACROSS THE DAKOTAS TONIGHT AND INTO THE UPPER MIDWEST WEDNESDAY.
THERE IS INCREASING CONFIDENCE THAT THIS STORM WILL BRING A SWATH OF HEAVY SNOW TO PARTS OF THE NORTHLAND LATE TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY WITH THIS SYSTEM…REGARDING THE PLACEMENT OF HEAVIEST SNOW.
HOWEVER…IT IS APPEARING MORE LIKELY THAT NORTHWEST WISCONSIN AND PARTS OF EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA COULD RECEIVE 9 TO 14 INCHES OF SNOW. THE HEAVIEST AMOUNTS… GREATER THAN 12 INCHES…WILL MOST LIKELY AFFECT THE NORTHERN MOST TIER OF COUNTIES IN NORTHWEST WISCONSIN…AND WEST ALONG THE INTERSTATE 35 CORRIDOR BETWEEN DULUTH AND HINCKLEY.
VERY STRONG NORTHEAST WINDS ACROSS WESTERN LAKE SUPERIOR WILL PRODUCE BLOWING SNOW AND REDUCED VISIBILITIES FROM THE TWIN PORTS AND ALONG THE HIGHWAY 2 CORRIDOR IN WISCONSIN.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…PRICE COUNTY AND WEST TO SOUTHERN PINE COUNTY…COULD SEE 6 TO 10 INCHES. THE BRAINERD LAKES AND AITKIN AREAS COULD SEE ABOUT 5 TO 8 INCHES.
* IMPACTS…THE HEAVY SNOW AND HIGH WINDS COULD BRING DOWN BRANCHES. ROADS COULD BECOME SNOW COVERED WITH LOW VISIBILITY.
