Snowfall warning in effect for Clyde River - late evening Wednesday to late evening Thursday.
A low pressure system over central Quebec will track northward and deepen over the next 24 hours. Rain will spread into southern Baffin Island this morning with 15 to 25 mm (.59″ to .98″) of rain expected for southern areas of the island. As this system tracks northward into a colder airmass the rain will change to wet snow. Heavy wet snow is possible over central portions of the island this evening into Thursday with the heaviest amounts expected in the Clyde River area with 15 to 20 cm (5.9″ to 7.9″) of snow expected by the time the wet snow tapers off Thursday evening. Locally higher amounts of up to 25 cm (9.8″) are possible over higher terrain.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
