British Columbia –“Unseasonably cool airmass” bringing early snowfall

Snowfall warnings for northeastern British Columbia.

Snowfall warning in effect for: Fort Nelson and Muncho Lake Park – Stone Mountain Park regions

Snowfall, with total amounts of about 10 cm (3.9″) is expected.

An unseasonably cool airmass from the Northwest Territories encountering moisture streaming in from the Pacific will cause an early season snowfall mainly over higher terrain on Sunday. Total accumulations of up to 10 cm (3.9″) are expected over eastern sections of Muncho Lake Park – Stone Mountain Park region and over higher terrain in Fort Nelson region.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Snowfall Warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. Email reports of severe weather to pacificstorm@ec.gc.caor tweet with the hashtag #BCStorm in British Columbia and #YKStorm in Yukon.
