21 Nov 14 – Shooting an ash column 5 kilometers into the sky.
Ash fall is reported at distances of up to 25 kilometers from the volcano, including the municipalities of Tonila, Zapotiltic, Jalisco, Quesería, and Colima.
The 3,820-meter volcano – also known as Volcano of Fire – lies 690 kilometers northwest of Mexico City, on the border of Colima and Jalisco states.
It is considered to be one of the most dangerous volcanoes in North America.
