23 Nov 2014 – Winter has arrived! One meter (39 inches) of snow since yesterday morning in Hakkari closes roads to at least seven villages and 14 hamlets.
Turkey also saw extreme cold across Kocaeli-Kartepe, Hakkari, Sivas, Yozgat, Bolu- Abant and Van.
The lowest temperature in the Eastern Anatolia Region, Kars and Ardahan, were measured at 5 degrees below zero.
Air temperatures will remain below the seasonal norm.
