Most of the educational institutions of Bordj Bou Arréridj are in total paralysis due to snowfall in the region.
A large number of students were unable to attend their schools due to the failure of public transport.
Many students made it to school via private transportation, but the schools were paralyzed because of the absence of some professors who reside far from their place of work.
Heavy snowfall in Algeria leaves several rods cut off in Setif (news item in French language).
The snow fell in abundance since Tuesday in the wilaya (district) of Sétif, which caused the closure of several roads such as the N9 and N75, according to the National Gendarmerie.
RN75, connecting Sétif to Bejaia by Ain Roua is blocked near the place called Takouka, located less than 10 km from Sétif, at the foot of Mount Meghress, said the Force to the APS. RN9 connecting Sétif in Bejaia by Kherrata is cut off near the locality of Theniet Ettine about twenty kilometers from the capital of the Highlands.
The National Gendarmerie services have also reported the obstruction, due to snowfall, of the RN74 (Ain Roua-Tibouamchine) at the hamlet of Fellaka.
Several other roads were also blocked on Tuesday night, especially in mountainous areas. This is particularly the case for RN77 (El Eulma – Mila) RN9 (El Ouricia – Ouled Adouane) and the axis connecting the provinces of Sétif and Bordj Bou Arreridj via Guenzet.
According to the National Police, while the secondary network serving the North of the wilaya of Setif remains impractical and requires great caution on the part of motorists.
