RAIN WILL CHANGE OVER TO SNOW FROM NORTH TO SOUTH THIS EVENING. STRENGTHENING UPSLOPE CONDITIONS WILL BRING MORE SNOW ACCUMULATION LATE TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY IN AND NEAR THE FOOTHILLS AND EASTERN SLOPES OF THE FRONT RANGE MOUNTAINS.
GOOD MOISTURE AND LIFT WITH THIS SYSTEM WILL COMBINE WITH TEMPERATURES DROPPING NEAR 25 DEGREES FROM THIS AFTERNOON TO WEDNESDAY…

SNOW IS ALSO EXPECTED ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE PIKES PEAK REGION TONIGHT. ACCUMULATING SNOW WILL LIKELY OCCUR ABOVE 8000 FEET. 1 TO 3 INCHES OF SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE.
SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF THE PIKES PEAK REGION PRIOR TO SUNRISE. NO SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED ON ROADWAYS PRIOR TO SUNRISE. SOME LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE ON GRASSY SURFACES.

THIS STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING SHARPLY COLDER TEMPERATURES AND GUSTY WINDS FROM WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT. IN ADDITION…ACCUMULATING SNOW…ESPECIALLY ABOVE 6000 FEET IS ANTICIPATED WITH SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW ANTICIPATED BY SUNRISE THURSDAY. MANY LOWER ELEVATION LOCATIONS ACROSS SOUTHERN COLORADO MAY ALSO EXPERIENCE SOME LIGHT ACCUMULATING SNOW…ESPECIALLY FROM LATER WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
BY THURSDAY AND FRIDAY MORNING…A HARD FREEZE IS LIKELY ACROSS THE EASTERN COLORADO PLAINS AS OVERNIGHT MINIMUM TEMPERATURES ARE PROJECTED TO DROP INTO THE 20S EACH OF THESE MORNINGS.
THEN FROM LATER THIS WEEKEND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK…ADDITIONAL UPPER DISTURBANCES ARE EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS SOUTHERN
COLORADO…GENERATING ADDITIONAL SHOWER ACTIVITY AS WELL AS HIGHER TERRAIN SNOWS AND GENERALLY BELOW SEASONAL EARLY MAY TEMPERATURES.
- Wednesday Snow. High near 33. Breezy, with a north wind 15 to 20 mph becoming east in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
- Wednesday Night Snow, mainly before 3am. Low around 19. North northwest wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
