Antarctic cold moving toward Australia

Large parts of Australia’s southeast are shivering through sub-zero temperatures and heavy snow falls.

Snow has fallen on unusually low altitudes in parts of Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales.

Ski resort operators are celebrating up to 30cm (12 inches) of new snow overnight.
