30,000 lost power – 8,000 still without power two days later.
Last Friday’s 6.7 inches of snowfall set a daily snowfall record on the 25th.
But that was nothing.
With the 11.2 inches snow that fell on the 29th , Fairbanks set a new 24-hour snowfall record for the entire month of September.
It was also cold!
The average high temperature climbed to only 50.2°F, some 4.4°F below normal. This ranks as the 15th coldest in Fairbanks in 110 years of record.
