Cotopaxi is near the equator.

Forecast calls for a “heavy fall of snow.”

Cotopaxi is an active stratovolcano in the Andes Mountains, located about 50 km (31 mi) south of Quito, Equador.

Standing 5,897 m (19,347 ft) above sea level, it is one of the world’s highest volcanoes.
