The San Joaquin Valley produces the majority of the 12.8% of the United States’ agricultural production that comes from California, according to Wikipedia.
A Hard Freeze Warning is in effect for the San Joaquin Valley from late Wednesday evening through Thursday morning.
Temperatures are expected to drop to the mid 20’s F for several hours over the rural areas of the valley after midnight, until a few hours after sunrise. The larger cities will see temperatures range from 28 to 31 F.
A Hard Freeze has the potential to kill or damage crops and harm pets and livestock. Homeowners should cover or bring in plants, check to make sure pets have adequate shelter and that pipes are covered.
