China has geared up to cope as the worst cold front in decades sweeps across the country.
23 Jan 2016 – Much of China has been hit by the cold wave which breaks a 30-year record, bringing snow in some parts of the country where it fell for the first time in years.
Orange level alert was declared across the country as temperatures were forecast to drop to 41 degrees below zero C (about -41F), the National Meteorological Centre, told AFP.
In Beijing, temperatures dropped to under minus 10C on Friday and will hit a 30-year low of minus 16C from Saturday through Sunday, the Beijing meteorological station said.
