A fast-moving snowstorm dumped 3 to 6 inches (5-15 cm) of snow across parts of New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
A second snowstorm will sweep across the Northeast on Monday, said meteorologist Dan Petersen with the U.S. Weather Prediction Center in College Park, Maryland.
The Boston area could pick up another 3 to 5 inches from that storm, the weather service said.
Parts of Michigan could receive up to 8 inches of snow, and snowfall warnings have been posted for parts of southern Ontario.
