30 Apr 2016 – Captured on University of Tokyo webcams, the blast sent ash several miles (several km) into the sky, and sent large pyroclastic flows down the mountainside.
Approximately 2 weeks ago, just before the large M7.0 earthquake in Kyushu Japan, this volcano went silent. Normally this volcano has shown small daily eruptions.
