Midwest – Average temperatures six to nine degrees (F) colder than last winter.
Northeast – More storms and snow accumulation than usual, mostly in New York and New England. Temperatures about three to five degrees colder than last winter (but fewer sub-zero days than normal).
Southeast – Severe chills in mid-to-late January, potentially threatening citrus crops.
