Blizzards and snowstorms in the northeastern Chinese provinces of Heilongjiang and Jilin have forced closure of several highways.
This was reported on Sunday, by Xinhua news agency, citing local weather services.
In many parts of the province of Heilongjiang snow levels reached 10 cm. The airport in the provincial administrative center of the city of Harbin remains open despite visibility having dropped to 500 meters.
In the coming days, forecasters predict heavy snowfall in the provinces of Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning.”
