Slovak police have closed several roads due to persistent snowfall across the majority of the country, says local media.
Several roads in Trencin district and Malacky district of Bratislava region are impassable for strong winds and snowdrifts.
People stuck in the ensuing traffic jams are being helped by emergency services.
It is expected that a number of areas in Slovakia may receive as much as 25cm (10 inches) of fresh snow overnight.
