“Ice cover on Lake Huron, Michigan, Erie, Superior and Ontario has topped 92.2 percent this season, approaching an all-time record for coverage, says the Midland (Michigan) Daily News.
“Out on the Saginaw Bay, ice fisherman were enjoying the thick ice, driving large trucks out on the lake. Fisherman reported about three feet (one meter) of ice over 14- to 20-foot deep water.
“Will we hit the record?” asks Josh Grosteffon, author of the article. “With warm temperatures in the forecast, it’s not likely.”
