Already falling in a narrow band from Wyoming to Minnesota this morning, snow was set to move through parts of Colorado, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Michigan throughout the day, according to Kevin Roth, lead meteorologist at The Weather Channel.
Forecasters expect between 4 and 10 inches of snow in the next 48 hours, with a few isolated spots around Lake Superior bracing for even more. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reported that parts of Minnesota were expecting as much as 12 inches.
Roth said the storm had the potential dump more snow on northern New York and northern New England, before tapering off Thursday.
Another storm system – with less snow – is set to follow a similar path starting Thursday in North Dakota.
