Blizzard paralyzes daily life in many parts of Russia’s Urals region

Snow depth reached to 20-30 cm (8 to 12 inches) in Yekaterinburg.

According the meteorological data, in Yekaterinburg, the temperatures fell to -5 degrees Celsius.

Russian meteorological authorities forecast that, cold weather and snowfall will continue in the coming days.

Meanwhile, excessive snowfall and blizzard caused electric shortage in Chelyabinsk.

In the southern Urals region visibility fell to 15 meters (49 ft).

Authorities have warned that except for emergency situation, people have to stay home and not go out.
