8 Feb 2016 – Weather conditions have deteriorated in the Akmola region of Kazakhstan.
Heavy snowfall over the weekend caused limitations to the movement of vehicles on roads in the region in all areas, so was said Emergency Situations of the Republic Committee.
According to authorities, 208 people and 58 vehicles stuck in snowdrifts were rescued.
Difficulties also on the railroad
The national rail carrier, JSC NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” (KTZ), informs that “in all railway stations in the midst of bad weather, strong blizzard snow removal work is carried out around the clock with the use of special equipment.”
In January, calculated in KTZ, were taken over 567 000 cubic meters of snow and cleared about 77 thousand kilometers of roads.
