“In most regions of the country, heavy snowfalls and blizzards have caused serious traffic problems, including in the province of Lublin,” says reader Argiris Diamantis
“According to the Provincial Office in Lublin, the worst situation by far is in districts Hrubieszów and Lublin. In those areas the snowdrifts reach a height of about 50 cm, so travel to the buried village is virtually impossible.
“To unblock the passage, crews are using heavy equipment, both on provincial and national level. The governor of Lublin Jolanta Szołno – Koguc arrived Saturday in the village of Wola Sobieska, where hundreds of people, because of the giant snow drifts yesterday and the day before, were cut off from the world.
Although there are now roads passable, a strong wind still blows snow from the fields. 01.02.2014 22:21
