HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG WINDS EXPECTED FOR THE VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTY MOUNTAINS LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT…
WARNING LEVEL WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 58 MPH WILL PRECEDE THE LOWERING OF THE SNOW LEVELS BY 6 TO 12 HOURS.
VENTURA COUNTY MOUNTAINS- LOS ANGELES COUNTY MOUNTAINS EXCLUDING THE SANTA MONICA RANGE- INCLUDING THE CITIES OF…LOCKWOOD VALLEY…MOUNT PINOS…ACTON…MOUNT WILSON…SANDBERG
* SNOW LEVELS…SNOW LEVELS WILL START OUT ABOVE 8000 FEET TONIGHT…THEN LOWER TO BETWEEN 5500 AND 6500 FEET LATE FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY.
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…SNOW ACCUMULATIONS BETWEEN 6000 AND 7000 FEET WILL RANGE FROM 6 TO 12 INCHES. ABOVE 7000 FEET…SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE FROM 1 TO 3 FEET.
* WINDS…SOUTH 25 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 65 MPH…STRONGEST ON THE HIGHER PEAKS AND RIDGES.
* IMPACTS…PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS WILL MAKE TRAVEL HAZARDOUS ON AREA ROADWAYS. WINDS WILL BE VERY GUSTY AT ALL ELEVATIONS…THOUGH STRONGEST ON THE HIGHER RIDGES AND PEAKS. SNOW WILL REMAIN CONFINED TO AREAS ABOVE 5500 FEET.
BELOW 5500 FEET PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN WILL LIKELY CAUSE LOCAL FLOODING OF ROADS AS WELL AS ROCK SLIDES. MUD AND DEBRIS FLOWS WILL BE POSSIBLE NEAR RECENT BURN AREAS.
