Residents of Chetwynd, British Columbia, awoke to a surprise this morning.
Environment Canada says the town received up to five centimeters (2 inches) of snow today.
Temperatures are expected to rise above zero this afternoon, and the snow will turn to rain.
Meanwhile, parts of northeastern British Columbia woke up to upwards of 3″ (7.6 cm) of new snow.
