Parts of northern Alabama have already seen more than 10 inches of heavy, wet snow, causing tree damage and power outages. Shreveport, Louisiana, could get up to 3 inches of snow, as could the Washington, D.C. area.
The southern snowstorm also brought around a foot to parts of Mississippi and heavy snow to Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina.
Schools closed and states of emergencies were declared ahead of the storm.
